TNSR 24.02 Release Notes

About the TNSR 24.02 Release

This is a regularly scheduled TNSR software release including new features and bug fixes.

Users who upgrade using the TNSR CLI package upgrade method must read the Updates via the TNSR CLI section thoroughly before performing this upgrade.

There are potential issues that may arise when upgrading via that method and Updates via the TNSR CLI contains information on how to complete the upgrade process in those cases.

  • RADIUS servers can now be used for purposes other than system authentication. As such, using RADIUS servers for system authentication on TNSR 24.02 and later requires explicit configuration. TNSR will add the required settings for existing RADIUS configurations during the upgrade process.

  • Remote access IPsec (“Mobile IPsec”) now supports EAP-RADIUS authentication

  • Local users can now be authenticated via LDAP

  • Default shell for the tnsr user on new installations has been changed to clixon_cli.

  • OpenSSH 9.0 and later deprecates use of the scp client on the remote side in favor of the sftp protocol.

Older OpenSSH clients can use scp -s to force the use of sftp when connecting to current versions of TNSR.

  • The I40E PMD used by Intel X710/XL710 no longer has an issue with source pruning affecting VRRP (Disable Source Pruning).

The device argument to disable source pruning can be removed from affected systems after upgrading to TNSR software version 24.02 or later.
