Connecting to the Console¶
There are times when accessing the console is useful, such as if network access has been accidentally locked out, or to assign a new password.

Note
SSH is normally used to connect to the CentOS command line. SSH is enabled on port 22 on the default install with the login credentials listed below.
Logging In¶
At the first display enter root
at the login prompt and press Enter
CentOS Linux (Core)
Kernel 3.10.0-123.e17.x86_64 on an x86_64
Localhost login:
Enter password
as the default password at the prompt and press Enter
.
Root access is now possible.
